The existing building was a small lakefront ranch with an attached garage. The owner wanted to create a cottage style home with charm and character. The area for the building was limited to the existing house footprint due to zoning regulations.
The first floor entrance has a covered porch with a unique hexagonal foyer. A large living room with expansive views towards the lake is adjacent to the farm style kitchen. The second floor is the private area of the home with a grand master suite that has a balcony and a large spa bathroom. The additional bedrooms are separated from the master suite and are in close proximity to the playroom.
Trims, moldings, rooflines, balconies, and finishes were detailed with aesthetics in mind throughout this project. This cottage achieved the owner’s goals both in design and function.
